PLAYY. is pleased to announce the second edition of their 3-day-camping festival in Cape Town, South Africa. Timeless Festival will take place between the 5th and 7th April 2024, and will be hosted in one of the best kept secrets of the Cape Overberg, the pristine and serene Elgin Grabouw Sports Club, Grabouw, located just over one hour from the city. With its breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, combined with the ambiance of the Eikenhof dam and the flourishing fynbos, this venue will leave you with an overwhelming sense of tranquillity and enchantment.
This follows the inaugural edition which featured a carefully curated line up with some of the most influential and groundbreaking acts including Grammy-nominated Electronic producer TYCHO, two-time Grammy-nominated Norwegian duo RÖYKSOPP, Grammy award winning act Deep Forest, Dutch producer Eelke Kleijn, German producers Parra For Cuva, Robert Babicz and Maria Die Ruhe, Mexican-born, NY based producer Sainte Vie as well as renowned National artists such as Sun El Musician, DJ Zinhle, Culoe de Song, Leon & Herb, Caiiro, We House Sundays, Enoo Napa, Kid Fonque, Jullian Gomes, Das Kapital, Dean Fuel, Reinhardt Buhr, Roger Goode, Goodluck, and Abbie Nurock to name but a few.
In 2024, the festival will play host to South African born, Swiss based international queen of Deep-House Nora En Pure, who has graced festival stages such as Coachella, Burning Man, Tomorrowland, and EDC, garnering over 100 million streams across all platforms in the process. The roster also includes German based dynamic duo Monkey Safari, who have taken the electronic music world by storm, releasing on labels such as Anjunadeep and Get Physical, and remixing prolific artists such as Rufus Du Sol, Jan Blomqvist, and Booka Shade.
The stellar local lineup will feature notable acts such as prolific producer and 5FM resident Das Kapital, internationally recognized progressive psy-trance artist Headroom (IBOGA Records) and Beatport chart topping Melodic-Techno artist Ryan Hill (Katermukke, Dear Deer Records). Other memorable acts include House sensation Piere Johnson, one half of Melodic-Techno act Stab Virus in Audiojerk (Suara Records), and Deep-House producer Sides, who has collaborated with the likes of Cioz (Stil Vor Talent).

► BOOKA SHADE — LIVE — Iconic German duo Booka Shade, aka Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier, have carved out a reputation as one of the most celebrated electronic acts to come out of Europe over the past two decades. From their seminal underground releases in the ’90s through to their recent GRAMMY nomination, the duo continue to prove exactly why they remain at the heart of electronic music.
► RODRIGUEZ JR. — Award-winning producer & live performer French-born, US-based Rodriguez Jr. has spent 25 years in the industry. His vast experience in all genres of electronic music makes him the visionary of melodic house and techno that he is today. Over the years he has released via the labels such as Anjunadeep and Armada and demanded for on remixes of Stephan Bodzin, Booka Shade, Eli & Fur, Röyksopp, NTO, Timo Maas and more.
► MONKEY SAFARI — These guys have been busier than a barrel of monkeys, releasing singles on Anjunadeep, scoring a hit with ‘Safe’ on Joris Voorn’s Spectrum imprint, and remixing tunes for artists like Jan Blomqvist, Booka Shade, and Australian super band RÜFÜS DU SOL.
► HEVI LEVI — Tel Aviv Melodic Techno music DJ, producer and label head Hevi Levi is one of the most known and busy DJs in Israel for the last 15 years. With a sound likened to Kevin de Vries, ARTBAT, and Saint Vie, he’s played played in underground clubs and at festivals such as Tomorrowland, Escape, Ministry Of Sound, ADE, Pacha and many more.
► HEADROOM — HEADROOM is Adam Metcalfe. Born and raised in Southern Africa but globally travelled and requested for his unique sound and characterful performances. Well over two decades have been devoted to his craft, fine tuning an evolving and distinctive tech-psystyle. Headroom’s music is often a warm gateway into the world of Psytrance, fusing musical ideas, genres and dance floors with charisma, soul and his trademark psychedelic touch.
► CAPE TOWN PRIDE — Cape Town Pride promises to bring cutting-edge club sounds and queer performance from the underground to the fore, with a number of South Africa’s most prominent underground DJs and drag artists appearing on the lineup. In addition, Timeless will appear at the official Cape Town Pride Mardi Gras on the 2nd of March 2024.
► ABBY NUROCK — Versatile DJ Abby Nurock’s love for sourcing quality music drives her to expand her extensive collection of vinyl, boasting the latest techno and minimal/progressive beats as well as vocal, deep, funky, afro house and disco.
► AUDIOJERK — Rising township star Audiojerk has established himself as one of Cape Town’s most in demand Techno artists, playing at every major festival around the country.
► BASSIK — South African based DJ, specialising in entertainment through the high-spirited sounds of Hip Hop, as well as Bass, Tech, and Deep house music.
►BRIDGES FOR MUSIC — Bridges for Music is a non profit organisation focused on empowering young talent from under-served communities to become creative change-makers.
► DAS KAPITAL mutates elements of House, UK Garage, Techno, Acid, classic Rave and Breakbeat into his own dynamic style. His weekly radio show “In Das We Trust’’ is in its 5th year on South African national broadcaster 5FM.
► DARU — Daru is a DJ/Producer based in Cape Town, South Africa pushing his unique taste and skills into the music industry since 2018. His music ability has allowed him to play at some of South Africa’s best events & nightclubs, from Bazique, Rocking The Daisies, Sexy Groovy Love to Shimmy Beach, Reset and Modular.
► DEAN FUEL — With roots as a vinyl DJ, he‘s rocked top festivals and underground clubs across Africa and beyond for over 18 years, turning his passion for electronic music into a lifelong pursuit.
► AURIS — Deep House, Melodic, Deep Tech and Desert Tech resident DJ at Mutha FM, DJ Auris has played at AfrikaBurn, Urban Oasis and Equinox.
► DJ AurallaurA — Capetonian audiophile, music collector and self taught DJ AurallaurA has had 25 years of raving and festivals under the belt and in the soul.
►ETHAN TAIT — Ethan Tait’s passion for electronic music led him to becoming furniture at events in Cape Town’s music scene with his most recent single ‘Breathe’ being recently publicly supported by no one less than Black Coffee.
► IVAN TURANJANIN — From curating small clubs to running large scale festivals, Ivan seeks to reinforce the rich traditions of electronic music history whilst lending the same passion to the advancement of underground music culture in South Africa and beyond. Drawing inspiration from the complexities of classical symphonies right through to the raw industrial essence of electronic music, Ivan Turanjanin continues to seek out sounds and compositions that realign spaces and audiences with an eye toward the future.
► LADY M B2B B_TYPE — Cape Town-based Lady M plays an intelligent and unique electronic sound, continuously earning herself recognition as the country’s original and leading lady in the local deep house scene. Brendon Geary aka B_Type is an active DJ for the past 19 years playing a host of diverse sounds, through the house and deep house revolution in Cape Town in the late 90’s to pushing a fresh Techno sound now, he has been through it all.
► NICK E LOUDER has always played on the tougher, progressive side of dance music, adapting genres to the needs and trends of the dance floor.
► NYX — Best known for playing Deep & Funky Melodic House and Tech, NYX will set the stage with soulful sounds to ignite your senses and open your heart.
► PIERRE JOHNSON — Pierre Johnson is taking on South Africa’s electronic music scene by force, with his easy going electronic style, dreamy keyboard washes, jazzy flourishes and occasional vocals riding deep bass-lines.
► PLAYGROUND TWINS — Born and raised in Cape Town, the duo’s passion for music brings a dance floor together with Progressive House and Melodic Techno. The Twins have performed all over the world in over 10 countries, and have paved a way for shaping new identities in music helping as many as they can along the way with their free DJ/Music Production NPO called Growing OGs, for the underprivileged youth of South Africa.
► RYAN HILL — Ryan Hill’s hard-hitting brand of Melodic and Minimal Techno can best be described as spacey, progressive and consistently high in energy. Ryan has performed at a long list of South African festivals including Origin, Into The Wild, Earthdance, Organik Gaian Dream, Habitat, Pangea, and AfrikaBurn to name but a few.
► SIDES — Cape Town based producer who is known for his deep and hypnotic performances. His signature sound can be described as melodic, progressive, electronica infused house music.
► THE FOGSHOW — The local Techno duo made up of long-time friends David Ireton and Nick Shepherd has been at the forefront of the South African Techno scene for many years, having played at every major festival in South Africa.
► XAVIER DRAGNER — Cape Town native Xavier Dragner’s work which concentrates on the techno subgenre, is a compelling fusion of pulsing beats, seductive melodies, and complex sounds layers.
Behind artists such as Ed Sheeran, Ben Howard, Crystal Fighters, Franz Ferdinand, FKJ, Pendulum, Steve Aoki among others, and recognised as one of the UK’s top promoter driving forces across the last 14 years, The Playground has hosted events at London’s top venues and won numerous accolades from The Guardian, Time Out, and NME Magazine to mention a few, with DJ Mag naming them “One of London’s most audacious music forces”.
